〘Noun〙① A flower-shaped decoration under the nine rings of a pagoda. It is usually an eight-petaled lotus flower pointing upwards. [Japanese Architecture Dictionary (1906)] ② Another name for the lotus flower that is the base of a Buddhist statue.
