International Airlines

Japanese: 国際航空 - こくさいこうくう

This refers to air transport operations that include one or more international flight segments. An international flight segment is one in which either or both of the departure and arrival points of the flight segment are in a location outside the country to which the airline belongs. International aviation includes scheduled and non-scheduled flights, and includes passenger transport, cargo transport, and mail transport. International aviation began in Europe after World War I. In particular, the route connecting London and Paris across the English Channel was already being operated by a total of six airlines, three in the UK and three in France, by the end of 1919.

航空輸送のうち，一つ以上の国際飛行区間を含む運航をいう。ここでいう国際飛行区間とは，飛行区間の発着地点のいずれかもしくは両方が，その航空会社の所属国以外の地点である飛行区間のことである。国際航空には定期便と不定期便があり，旅客輸送と貨物輸送，郵便輸送がある。　国際航空は，第1次大戦後のヨーロッパで始まった。とくにドーバー海峡を横断してロンドンとパリを結ぶ路線は，1919年末すでにイギリス側3社，フランス側3社の計6社によって運航されていた。
