...However, toxicology often also includes a field called clinical toxicology, which deals with symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of poisoning. (2) Clinical pharmacology: A field based on the principles of pharmacology, using humans as research subjects to enable more scientific, effective, and safe drug therapy. It includes extrapolating animal test results to humans, establishing scientific and ethical test methods in humans, and investigating the pharmacological effects, pharmacokinetics, and safety of drugs in healthy people, evaluating efficacy and adverse effects (side effects) in patients, and providing services for appropriate drug therapy in actual treatment settings. It also includes research into the dosage forms and usage of more effective and safe therapeutic drugs.
