Study Y - Study

...Generally, it refers to Christian evangelism, research, and volunteer activities for university students. Specifically, it refers to the student divisions of the YMCA and YWCA in the UK and the US, which were founded in the 19th century, known as the Student Y movement. The Student Y summer school, which was held in 1886 in Mount Hermon, Massachusetts, under the direction of popular evangelist Moody, was the starting point of the Student Volunteer Movement, which encouraged university students to volunteer as missionaries. The Student Christian Movement was born from this overseas missionary movement by university students.
