Impeller - Impeller

...A rotating body consisting of multiple blades attached to a hub, which exchanges energy between the fluid and shaft power in a turbo-type fluid machine. In pumps, blowers, and compressors, which give energy to the fluid, it is called an impeller, and in water turbines, which receive energy, it is called a runner. Depending on the direction in which the flow passes through the impeller, it is classified as a centrifugal type, a mixed flow type, or an axial flow type (Figure).
