Cicadas - Insects

Another name for the order of fleas in the class Insecta, also known as Microptera. The name comes from the lack of wings. It is thought that they lost their wings due to their parasitic lifestyle, and in some species, traces of wings can be seen on the mesothorax during the pupal stage.

昆虫綱に属するノミ類（目）の別称で、微翅類(びしるい)ともいう。名は、はねがないことに由来する。寄生生活によって、はねを失ったものと考えられ、一部の種では蛹(さなぎ)の時期に中胸に、はねの痕跡(こんせき)が認められる。
