Kasumi Beach

Japanese:
Kasumi Beach

This coast faces the Sea of Japan in Kami Town, Mikata County, in northern Hyogo Prefecture. It has been designated a national place of scenic beauty and is one of the most picturesque spots in San'in Kaigan National Park. On either side of Kasumi Bay, the coastline stretches for about 10 kilometers, with Tajima Sekiheki to the east, Yoroi No Sode (a national natural monument) to the west, and Kujaku Cave, attracting tourists with its varied beauty. It is a typical subsidence coastline, with the mountains made up of various volcanic rocks eroded by the fierce winter waves, creating a rocky coastline with a series of columnar jointed cliffs, caves, caverns, and oddly shaped rocks. The sandy beaches scattered along the coastline, such as Kasumihama and Kuntani, are great swimming spots.
