A town in Sennan County in the southern part of Osaka Prefecture. It belongs to the Senshu Textile Industrial Zone and is known for towel manufacturing. The production and spinning of cotton cloth, hosiery, and socks is also thriving. Rice is cultivated using reservoir irrigation, and the town also cultivates its specialty onions. The Kyoto University Research Reactor Institute is located here, and the Hanwa Line runs through the town. 17.24 km2 . Population: 45,069 (2010). 大阪府南部，泉南郡の町。泉州紡織工業地帯に属し，タオル製造で知られ，綿布，メリヤス，靴下の生産，紡績も盛ん。溜池灌漑(ためいけかんがい)による米作，特産のタマネギ栽培も行う。京都大学原子炉実験所があり，阪和線が通じる。17.24km2。４万5069人（2010）。
