Japanese: 霞網 - かすみあみ

A net made of silk thread to capture small birds that migrate in large flocks, such as thrushes, siskins, and finches. It is so named because it is invisible to birds. In the dark hours of the early morning, stakes are set up at appropriate distances and two nets are stretched out, and decoy birds are made to sing. When a bird flies in, it is caught when it sticks its head into the net. Until the 1940s, this was mainly done in the mountains of the Chubu region, but in 1947, the Wildlife Protection Law was enacted to protect birds, and prohibit such practice except for special reasons such as academic research.

ツグミ，ヒワ，アトリなど大群をなして渡る小型の鳥を捕らえるための絹糸でつくられた網。鳥の目にはわからないのでこの名がある。早朝の暗い時刻に，くいを適当な距離に立て網を２重に張り，おとりの鳥を鳴かせ，飛来する鳥が網目に首をつっこんだところを捕らえる。1940年代まで主に中部地方の山地で行われていたが，鳥類保護の見地から，1947年以来鳥獣保護法により，学術研究など特別の理由がある場合を除き禁止された。
