Iguribune - Iguribune

...A hollowed-out boat used in various parts of the Ryukyu Islands, from the Tokara Islands in Kagoshima Prefecture southward. It is also called Uba on Amami Oshima and Iguribune on Tokunoshima. It comes in various sizes, but is usually about 4.5 meters long. It was originally made of pine wood, but in modern times it has mainly been made of cedar wood. It gradually changed to a wooden boat, and nowadays complete hollowed-out boats can only be seen in museums.
