The center of a circle inside one of the angles of a triangle that is tangent to one side of the triangle and the extensions of the other two sides is called the circumcenter of the triangle, and this circle is called the circumcircle. An circumcenter is the intersection point of the bisector of one angle of a triangle and the bisectors of the exterior angles of the other two angles, and there are three of them, one inside each of the three angles of a triangle. There are four points that are equidistant from the three lines formed by extending the three sides of a triangle: the incenter and the three circumcenters. We can also consider circumcenters and circumcircles for tetrahedrons.

三角形の一つの角の内部にあって、三角形の一辺と他の二辺の延長とに接する円の中心を三角形の傍心といい、その円を傍接円という。傍心は、三角形の一つの角の二等分線と他の二つの角の外角の二等分線の交点であり、三角形の三つの角の内部に一つずつ計三つある。三角形の三辺を延長してできる三つの直線から等距離にある点は、内心と三つの傍心の四つである。また、四面体についても傍心、傍接球を考えることができる。
