…Most of the Jewish people were in the Roman Empire, but the Diaspora was also subjected to severe oppression during the repeated revolts, and the Babylonian Diaspora, which was outside the sphere of influence of the Roman Empire, gradually became the center of the Jewish world. Especially from the 5th century onwards, legal scholars who gathered at yeshivah schools (schools) in Babylonia carried out the task of completing rabbinic Judaism. As a result, the Babylonian Talmud was compiled as a compilation of oral law, which was the historical trajectory of the Jewish people and religious community and the standard for their way of life.
