Alfonso III

Japanese: アルフォンソ[3世](英語表記)Alfonso III
Alfonso III
Around 852 - 910 or 911
The greatest and last king of the Kingdom of Asturias, known as "the Great," reigned from 866 to 910. Taking advantage of the political and religious internal conflicts in the Umayyad Caliphate from Muhammad I to Abdullah and the resulting temporary decline in the power of the emirs, he brought the entire Douro Valley from Castile to northern Portugal under his control. At the same time, he actively promoted a recolonization movement in the valley, nearly doubling the area under the control of the Kingdom of Asturias. Asturias [Seki Tetsuyuki]
