...Succulent plants of the Euphorbia genus of the Euphorbiaceae family are collectively called euphorbia or succulent euphorbia in horticulture. In recent years, some reports have also been published that treat the Euphorbia genus as an oil plant. Succulent euphorbia is a large group of over 500 species, distributed mainly in Africa and Madagascar, as well as Arabia, India, Mexico, and other places. The morphology of succulent euphorbia is extremely diverse, with a rich variety comparable to that of the Cactaceae family.
