Alban Kingdom

…It is located in the northeastern suburbs of Perth, near the left bank of the River Tay. It was the tribal center of the Picts, but in the 9th century, when the Scots annexed the Picts and established the Kingdom of Alban, it became its capital. At that time, King Kenneth MacAlpin moved his coronation throne from the castle on Loch Etive here, and it was called the Stone of Scone (Scotland's Stone of Destiny) and was the coronation place of Scottish kings until Charles II in 1651.
