Alba Longa (English spelling)

The oldest city in ancient Latium, located 19 km southeast of Rome, Italy, near the present-day Castel Gandolfo. Today, Albano. It is said to have been founded in the 12th century BC by Ascanius, the son of Aeneas. At one time it was the leader of the Latin League, but was destroyed by Rome around 600 BC. イタリア，ローマの南東 19kmに位置し，現在のカステルガンドルフォ付近にあった古代ラチウムの最古の都市。現アルバノ。前 12世紀にアエネアスの子アスカニウスによって建設されたとされる。ある時期ラテン同盟の盟主であったが，前 600年頃ローマに滅ぼされた。
