〘名〙 (「ごん」は「勤」の呉音)① 任務に忠実なこと。怠ることなく勤めること。精勤。かくご。かっきん。※続日本紀‐和銅四年(711)七月甲戌「然纔行一二、不悉行、良由諸司怠慢不上レ恪勤、遂使下レ名宛員数空廃政事」※将門記承徳三年点(1099)「年来公務に恪(カクコム)して誉有りて、謗无し」② 平安時代、院、親王家、大臣家、門跡などに仕える侍。また、その侍として仕えること。かくご。※今昔(1120頃か)二八「近来(このごろ)府に露物不候で、陣恪勤(かくごん)の者共佗申すに依て」③ ⇒かくご(恪勤)③
