Uozu Iron Works

…As early as 1936, the company began exporting fasteners to South America and Australia, and in 1938, it opened a new factory and changed its name to Yoshida Kogyosho. In 1942, it was reorganized as Yoshida Kogyosho Limited Liability Company, but the factory burned down in the March air raids of 1945, and Yoshida evacuated to his hometown of Uozu, Toyama Prefecture, where he bought Uozu Iron Works in June of the same year and began operating an ironworks business. In August of the same year, the company was renamed Yoshida Kogyo Co., Ltd., and in 1947, an office was opened in Tokyo, and in 1949, a factory was completed in Uozu with a complete integrated production system that covers everything from raw materials to finished fasteners. …
