A district of Futtsu City in the southwest of Chiba Prefecture. Formerly Aohori Town. Located on the alluvial plain at the mouth of the Koito River, it is the birthplace of seaweed farming in Chiba Prefecture and was once a seaweed fishing village on the Tokyo Bay coast, but the area has now been reclaimed for industrial use. Nearby are Aohori Onsen (chloride spring water), Futtsu Park, and Cape Futtsu. The JR Uchibo Line and National Route 16 pass through the area.
