[Born] Around 1450 [Died] 1503 German copperplate engraver. He learned printmaking from his father, a copperplate engraver of the same name, and from the "ES engraver." He was a prolific artist and is thought to have left over 570 works, including many copies of M. Schongauer and early A. Dürer.
