Livlandische Reimchronik (English spelling)

...One is the Latin "Henrici chronicon Livoniae" attributed to the monk Henry, which records the period from 1184 to 1227. The other is the medieval High German "Livländische Reimchronik" (Livländische Reimchronik), which consists of 12,017 lines and is of unknown authorship, and covers the history of Livonia from 1236 to 1290, when the Teutonic Knights established control over the whole of Livonia. Both chronicles begin with the activities of German merchants who arrived in the Daugava River (German name: Duna River) basin in Latvia in the 12th century, then go on to report in detail on the history of the struggles between the Schwertbrüderorden (1202-36), who swept through Livonia with their base in Riga under the pretext of spreading Christianity, and the Livonian Knights (1237-1561), who later merged with the Teutonic Knights, and the indigenous people. …
