A theoretical term in gagaku. In Komagaku, a rhythm pattern indicated by the triple drum, in which one short beat is divided into four beats, and two such short beats form a unit of time. In modern music, it is used in the break part of the piece "Nasori," and corresponds to the "kara-hyōshi" in the quick part. The break parts of other Komagaku are, as a rule, "yo-byōshi."
