METEOR

...An artificial satellite with the function of observing meteorological elements and collecting meteorological observation data from unmanned observation stations and ships. There are medium altitude meteorological satellites that orbit the Earth in a relatively short time (around 1 hour and 40 minutes) at an altitude of about 800 to 1000 km above the Earth's surface, and geostationary meteorological satellites that are located 35,786 km above the equator. Geostationary meteorological satellites have the advantage of being able to observe within a circle with a radius of 7000 km centered on the satellite's nadir, but because they are located above the equator, they cannot observe near the poles. They are also not suitable for observing small phenomena.
