…家士（かし），家人（けにん）などと訳され，国王，諸侯などの家に属する非自由人でありながら，その職務上社会的影響力を得て特別な身分を形成した者をいい，ディーンストマンDienstmannとも呼ばれる。ラテン語ではミニステリアリスministerialis。すでにフランク時代に宮廷，行政，軍事勤務に従事するpueri regis,servi ministerialesなどと呼ばれた非自由人が存在していたが，11世紀以降になると，領主の他の隷属民と区別され，その権利義務を家人法Dienstrechtとして記録される特別な身分が形成されて，軍事的･行政的な勤務に就いた。…
