...Due to inaccuracies that occur in gyros and accelerometers during flight, guidance errors accumulate over flight time. The United States has developed a technology called the Navigation System with Time and Ranging Global Positioning Satellite (NAVSTAR/GPS), which uses satellites positioned on Earth to receive coded signals constantly transmitted from multiple artificial satellites and determine the missile's position. Furthermore, attempts are being made to improve the accuracy of terminal guidance by using regional correlation guidance, as described below.
