Company Newsletter - Shanaihou

A general term for periodic communication documents issued by companies to employees as part of human relationship management. The original purpose is to increase a sense of unity with the company and improve motivation to work by informing employees of the company's policies and activities and providing information on current issues. This means communication from the top down, but since that alone is not enough to create a sense of unity, sufficient consideration is also given to communication from the bottom up, such as various suggestions and opinions, and horizontal communication, such as information on the workplace and the local area. For this reason, most company newsletters mainly cover company trends, personnel, new products, recreation, the local community, and employees' family situations. However, they do not cover information directly related to job performance. Company newsletters can be in the form of both newspapers and magazines, and are published weekly, seasonally, or monthly. It is not uncommon to have experts edit company newsletters, but employee participation is important.

企業が人間関係管理の一環として発行する従業員向けの定期的意思疎通文書の総称。従業員に企業の方針や活動内容を周知させ、当面する諸問題について情報を提供することにより、企業との一体感を高め、勤労意欲を向上させることが本来の目的である。このことは、上から下への意思疎通を意味するが、それだけでは一体感の形成に十分ではないので、各種の提案や意見のような下からの意思疎通、職場・地域の情報のような横の意思疎通にも十分な配慮がなされる。このため、社内報の多くは、企業の動向、人事、新製品、レクリエーション、地域社会、従業員の家庭状況などを主内容としている。ただし、職務遂行に直接関連する情報は、社内報では扱わない。社内報の形態には、新聞と雑誌の両者があり、刊行の期間には、週刊、旬刊、月刊などがある。社内報編集のために専門家を置くことも珍しくないが、従業員の参加が重要である。
