A large lake in northern Italy. Formed by glacial erosion, it stretches 65 km from north to south, with its northern tip belonging to Switzerland. With an area of 213 km2 , it is the second largest lake in Italy, with the lake surface at an elevation of 194 m and a maximum depth of 370 m. The Ticino River flows into it from the north and flows out from it from the south. There are many tourist and resort areas on the shores of the lake, including Stresa and Locarno in Switzerland.
