Japanese: 生きてゐる小平次 - いきているこへいじ

Play. Three acts. Written by Suzuki Senzaburo. First performed at the Shinbashi Enbujo Theater in Tokyo in June 1925 (Taisho 14). The cast included Morita Kan'ya 13 as Obata Koheiji, Onoe Kikugoro 6 as Nago no Taikuro, and Ichikawa Onimaru (later Onoe Taganojō 3) as Taikuro's wife Ochika. The play draws inspiration from Santo Kyoden's collection of plays, "The Strange Tale of Revenge from Asaka-numa," Tsuruya Namboku 4's "Colored Fairy Tales," and Mokuami's "The Ghost Story of Obata Koheiji," but it is also thought that this work was indirectly influenced by Tanizaki Jun'ichiro's "Okuni to Gohei" (first performed in 1922).

戯曲。3幕。鈴木泉三郎作。1925年(大正14)6月東京新橋演舞場初演。配役は小幡小平次を13世守田勘弥，那古の太九郎を6世尾上菊五郎，太九郎妻おちかを市川鬼丸(後の3世尾上多賀之丞)。山東京伝の合巻《復讐奇談安積沼（ふくしゆうきだんあさかぬま）》，4世鶴屋南北の《彩入御伽艸（いろえいりおとぎぞうし）》，黙阿弥の《怪談小幡小平次（かいだんこはだこへいじ）》などに材を仰ぐが，なお本作品が間接的影響を受けたものとして谷崎潤一郎作《お国と五平》(1922初演)が考えられる。
