Imouo - Imouo

...A typical freshwater fish that lives in the uppermost waters, it is often found in deeper rivers than the yamame (illustration), and is a popular target for mountain stream fishing. It is called Kirikuchi in Wakayama, Gogi in the Chugoku Mountains, and Imouo in Fukui, and is considered to be a separate lineage of the same species that is distributed independently. It grows to about 30 cm in length, has oval parr marks on its sides, small light gray circular spots, and even smaller vermilion spots below the lateral line.
