The wave of the New Art Movement arose in the 1920s as a movement of poetry, theater, and fine arts collectively known as the avant-garde, due to the influx of various ideas. The main movements were Expressionism, Futurism (B. Jasienski, Anatol Stern (1899-1968), etc.), the Krakow avant-garde (Tadeusz Peiper (1891-1969), J. Przybosz), which praised urban technological civilization, and the second avant-garde (Czesław Miłosz (1911- ), Jósef Czechowicz (1903-39), etc.), which expressed a premonition of catastrophe in the 1930s. The Scamander group, which distinguished itself from the avant-garde but advocated anti-modernism and the "poetry of everyday life," produced some of the greatest poets of the period, including J. Tubym, Antoni Słonimski (1895-1976), Kazimierz Wierzyński (1894-1969), and Iwaszkiewicz. *Some of the terminology references "Stern, A." are listed below.
