Oklahoma [State] - Oklahoma
A state in the central and southern United States. Abbreviated as Okla., OK. It is located on the north bank of the Red River, a tributary of the Mississippi River, and the Arkansas River flows through the northeast. The western part is a plateau hilly area belonging to the Great Plains. The main industry is agriculture, with wheat, cotton, and sorghum being the main crops. Beef cattle are also raised. Blessed with petroleum and natural gas, the oil refining industry is well developed. It was incorporated into the United States with the Louisiana Purchase in 1803, and after the 1820s, American Indians such as Cherokee, Creek, Choctaw, Chickaso, and Seminole were forcibly relocated to this area. White people settled in 1889, and it became a territory in 1890. It joined the Union in 1907. The state capital is Oklahoma City. It is located in the Bible Belt and tends to be religiously and politically conservative. It is also famous for John Steinbeck's masterpiece, The Grapes of Wrath. The state has an area of ​​177,660 km2 . 3,878,051 people (2014).
