...A perennial herb of the Ranunculaceae family (illustration) that grows in mountain grasslands and sparse forests, as well as in the alpine zone. The stems reach a height of about 80 cm, are erect and branched. The leaves are large, 3-4 times trifoliate, and the leaflets are shallowly lobed but not sawtoothed. The undersides are whitish. The base of the petiole forms a leaf sheath. The tip of the stem forms a large corymb, which produces many small flowers from July to September. The sepals are white or pale pink and fall off quickly. There are no petals. The stamens are about 1 cm long, and the filaments are usually white and swollen club-shaped at the top. ...
