Japanese: ドリス人 - ドリスじん

A branch of the ancient Greek people. Also known as the Dorians. They spoke the Doric dialect. They were thought to have migrated south from the Balkans to Greece around 1200-1100 BCE with their Iron Age culture, destroyed the Mycenaean civilization, and founded Sparta, but this has been questioned in recent years. They lived throughout the Peloponnese, and later migrated to Crete and the southern west coast of Asia Minor (Dorian region).

古代ギリシア民族の一分派。ドーリア人とも。ドリス方言を使用。前1200年―前1100年ころ鉄器文化をもってバルカンからギリシアに南下，ミュケナイ文明を破壊，スパルタなどを建設したと考えられていたが，近年は疑問視されている。ペロポネソス半島全域に住み，のちクレタ島，小アジア西岸南部（ドリス地方）にも移住した。
