A branch of the ancient Greek people. Also known as the Dorians. They spoke the Doric dialect. They were thought to have migrated south from the Balkans to Greece around 1200-1100 BCE with their Iron Age culture, destroyed the Mycenaean civilization, and founded Sparta, but this has been questioned in recent years.
