Territorium

...usually refers to the partial states (lands) that constituted the Holy Roman Empire or the Kingdom of Germany from around the 13th century onwards, and to imperial cities equivalent to them. Also called Territorium. Therefore, it is used to refer to those up until 1806, when the Holy Roman Empire was dissolved, but it can also be used to refer to the German states up until the time of German unification in 1871.
