...The world of poetry was the first place where the flower of literary language bore fruit. With the exception of Zhukovsky, born in 1783, during the 20-year period from Byazemsky, born in 1792, to Aleksei Vasil'evich Kol'tsov, born in 1809, excellent poets were born at a rate of almost one every year, and these people would go on to lead the golden age of Russian poetry. The golden age of novels would blossom on the back of the accumulation of linguistic experiments from this period.
