…The period from this point onwards is called the Second Turkic Khanate. During the reign of Qapghan, the younger brother of Qapghan, Qapghan defeated the Khitan in the east, the Kyrgyz in the north, the Basmir of Bishbalik in the west, and the Turgish along the Irtysh River. Qapghan's son Bilge Khagan restored the direct line and, together with his brother Köl Tegin (685-731), achieved the restoration of a nomadic horseback riding state with the advice of his father's noble retainer Tonyuquq (Ashide Yuanzhen).
