...The representative of this trend was the Camden Town Group, which was formed in 1911 by Walter Richard Sickert (1860-1942) and included Lucien Pissarro (1863-1944, son of Camille Pissarro) and Augustus John (1878-1961). This group was originally a successor to the New English Art Club, which was founded in 1886 with Steer as its initiator and Whistler, Sargent, Sickert, and others.
