《Kano Chronicles》

...These states were conquered in the 19th century by the Fulani in a jihad (holy war), and all records were destroyed, so details of their past are unclear. However, some facts are known from the Kano Chronicle, written in Arabic at the end of the 19th century. It is said that the people who created the Hausa states originally migrated from a legendary land called Daura, and by the 14th century, they had created seven or eight states in Hausaland.
