The first son of Emperor Kōgen who appears in the Kojiki and Nihon shoki. His mother was Utsushikome no Mikoto. He was the elder brother of Emperor Kaika. In the 10th year of the reign of Emperor Sujin, he headed for Hokuriku as one of the four generals. On the way, he learned of a rebellion by Takehaniyasuhiko no Mikoto and suppressed it. He is said to be the ancestor of seven clans, including Abe no Omi, Kashiwadeno no Omi, and Aeno no Omi. He was also known as Ohiko no Mikoto.
