Goldie, G. (English spelling) GoldieG

...a Royal Company that promoted British commercial and territorial expansion in the lower Niger region of West Africa in the second half of the 19th century. During this period, trading activities in the lower Niger region were monopolized by the National Africa Company, a merger of British companies led by George Goldie (1846-1925). In 1886, the British government granted the company a monopoly on trade and governance in the Niger Delta, the Niger and Benue rivers, and the hinterland, and renamed it the Royal Niger Company.
