One crime, one count principle

...Although this is rarely done in practice, "several charges...may be stated in a preliminary or alternative manner" (Article 256, paragraph 5). In addition, a charge must be specified as one for each crime (the principle of one charge per crime). The prosecutor may request the court to allow the addition, withdrawal, or change of charges stated in the indictment (hereinafter referred to as "change of charges") prior to the submission of evidence or as the evidence examination progresses (in practice, this is often done by way of preliminary addition). ...
