Mona monkey (English spelling)
A medium-sized monkey of the genus Cercopithecus, family Cercopithecidae, order Primates. It has a long tail and a head and body length of 45 to 60 cm. It is characterized by a flesh-colored muzzle. It is divided into subspecies such as Campbell's monkey C. m . cambelli , Mona's monkey C. m . mona in the strict sense, crown guenon C. m . pogonias , Dent guenon C. m. denti , and Wolf guenon C. m . wolfi , but these are sometimes treated as separate species. It is distributed from West Africa to Central Africa, and lives in the lower and middle layers of tropical rainforests.
