The first military officer of the Song Dynasty in China. A native of Daimyo Prefecture (Hebei Province), he served as the palace guard, then as an attendant, before becoming General of the Left Thousand Guards. He was sent to Gaochang in Western Uyghur (981-984) by order of Emperor Taizong of Song, and after returning home he wrote a record of his experiences, the Journal of the Western Provinces (Records of Gaochang). This is known as a valuable historical document that shows the state of affairs in inland Asia at the end of the 10th century.

中国，宋初の武官。大名県 (河北省) の人。宮廷護衛の殿前承旨，供奉官を経て左千牛衛上将軍となる。宋の太宗の命で，西ウイグルの高昌国に派遣され (981～984) ，帰国後その見聞記『西州程紀 (高昌行紀) 』を著わした。これは 10世紀末の内陸アジアの形勢を示す貴重な史料として知られる。
