Ginkgo candy
Also known as Leucaena julibrissin. A tall tree of the legume family native to Central America, usually evergreen. It has been migrated to Southeast Asia since ancient times and has become naturalized. The leaves are finely bipinnate, even-numbered compound leaves, with the undersides of the leaflets powdery white. A single, spherical, white flower spike, about 3 cm in diameter, grows at the end of a long stalk emerging from the leaf axil. The stamens are long and conspicuous, similar to those of the silk tree. The legumes are brown and flat, 10 to 15 cm long. In the south, it is used as firewood and charcoal and as fodder, but in horticulture, it is suitable for bonsai.
