Born December 10, 1877. The son of a fishing boss in Ao Village (Himi City), Toyama Prefecture. In 1912, he made improvements to the Hidaka-style Buri Daimo-ami and invented the Ueno-style Buri Daishiki-ami, which became the prototype for the Etchu-style Buri Daimo-ami. He was the mayor of Ao Village and a member of the prefectural assembly. He also served as chairman of the prefectural fisheries association. He passed away on August 13, 1939. He was 63 years old.
