MSA Agreement

Japanese: MSA協定 - エムエスエーきょうてい
MSA Agreement
Four agreements concluded in March 1954 based on the US Mutual Security Act. The Japan-US Mutual Defense Assistance Agreement, the Agricultural Products Purchase Agreement, the Economic Measures Agreement, and the Investment Guarantees Agreement are the collective names for these agreements. The US provided weapons and other economic assistance for the purpose of anti-Soviet and anti-Communism, but Japan was also obligated to contribute to the defense of the free world by gradually increasing its own defense capabilities.
