Simon Vissering
1818‐88
Dutch economist. He is known for teaching Nishi Amane and Tsuda Shindo in Leiden, Netherlands, natural law, international law, national law, economics, and statistics as the foundations of statecraft. His lectures were later translated and published as Nishi Amane's International Law (1868), Kanda Kohei's Nature Law (1871), Tsuda Shindo's Western Law Theory (1868), and his Heiyo Teiko (1874), which influenced the nascent Japanese law and political science. Vissering was born in Amsterdam and studied at universities there and in Leiden.

オランダの経済学者。1863年オランダのライデンで西周と津田真道に,治国学の基本として自然法,国際法,国法,経済学および統計学を教授したことで知られている。その講義は後に翻訳され,西周《万国公法》(1868),神田孝平《性法略》(1871),津田真道《泰西国法論》(1868)および,同《表記提綱》(1874)として公刊され,揺籃期の日本の法学・政治学に影響を及ぼした。フィセリングはアムステルダムに生まれ,同地およびライデンの大学に学ぶ。
