However, she devoted her life primarily to music education, serving as assistant harmony teacher (1909-24) and professor at the École Normale (1920-39) at her alma mater. She also taught harmony and other subjects at the American Conservatory in Fontainebleau from 1921 onwards, where her pupils included A. Copland, R. Harris and W. Piston.
