…A type of emission star discovered in 1867 by Wolf C. Wolf and Rayet G. Rayet of the Paris Observatory. Its spectrum is characterized by broad and strong emission lines emitted by ionized ions such as He, O, N, and C. Based on the ionization stage of the ions, the surface temperature of the star is estimated to be 40,000 to 60,000 K. In addition, if the width of the emission lines is considered to be due to the Doppler effect caused by atmospheric motion, the atmosphere of a Wolf-Rayet star is in a state of outflow at a high speed of 2000 to 4000 km/s. It is also known that this star has an abnormal chemical composition, which is divided into a C-rich carbon series and a N-rich nitrogen series, and its relationship with stellar evolution is attracting attention. …
