...It is played with a cherry bark or plastic plectrum in the right hand. The instrument is called different names depending on its size: large ones are called divan, medium ones are called bağlama, and small ones are called cura. It is widely loved as an accompaniment to folk songs and folk dances, and is especially used by minstrels called âşik or ozan to accompany narrative songs.
